So we are at the ackward teenage stage.....
of chicken keeping. Still kind of cute, but a tad ugly. Feathers starting to poke out, combs making an appearance.

STOP....
Stop whatever you are doing right at this moment and go immediately to your local library (because libraries are magical and I am still a fan of the paper thing that fits nicely in your hands) and check out "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green.
I dare not say it but....IT IS THE BEST BOOK I HAVE READ IN YEARS!!! I love it so dearly. I have never laughed so much as I have reading a book (and one about cancer no less) than this one and I have also shed tears.....
I even went as far as checking out John Green's other four books, I loved it so much. Premise: It is about two teens who meet in a Cancer Support Group....that is all I am telling. Oh and it says it is a "teen fiction" but don't let that stop you.
Now...just prior to this book I read "The Condition" by Jennifer Haigh...a more serious book but so so so good. The part I really liked was that it had a fair amount about molecular biology and it was very accurate and fun to read about something I actually know about. Oh and did I mention it was the Pen/Faulkner winner....soo good. Premise: Hummm...well it about a family with a lot of issues.
Enjoy.

Morning
Mason: Mom, I need help getting a shirt.
(I go into his room and pull out an apple green shirt and help him put it on.)
Mason: Mom, Kendall is really going to like this shirt because it is her favorite color.
Me: It is my favorite color too. What is your favorite color?
Mason: Rainbow color.
:)

Hi
FIRST OFF....this is a must read.
It was one of those things you needed to read right at that exact moment. I was reading it on my phone and it was like getting hit with a brick, upside the head, coming at you at warp speed. This is my life. I go on my computer and sit for hours...surfing all over, making myself think I am being productive (all the while wondering how I could blow so much money on a gym membership I never use. But all the while using the "excuse" that I never have time to work out.)
I go shopping, looking for good deals. Forming relationships with STUFF....rather then people or finding myself in fulfilling moments. Buy stuff, get rid of stuff, buy more stuff, get rid of more stuff. Stuff.
And then with that laziness comes lazy eating. Papa Murphys one night. Frozen dinner. Eat out. What are veggies? Eat out again. Hot lunches for the kids. Ughh....how annoying.
So I logged on to Facebook. Closed my account. Walked outside, cleaned out a few of the gardens. Made a great dinner. We will read books. Go to bed at a decent hour. Sign up for yoga again. Nourish.
