Trying to find inspiration

Here are some of the goals I wrote down for the year

1)Recycle more, be more green

2)Read more and read more to Kendall

3)Find inspiration in day to day things

4)Eat healthier and enjoy cooking more...use those cook books

5)Be frugal.

6)Be more honest.
(and a couple of others)

Well, I find learning very inspiring. I recently came upon the TED website and I was astonished at the amazing talks on here. I really found this one by Amory Lovins to be pretty neat. I dig smart people.

Did you see what made an appearance in our front yard this frigidly cold morning? There is something to be said about living outside the city. Photo courtesy of Joshua Sebasky.

Sick of it

Please don't think of me as a complainer but since this is my blog, I just want to vent a little: 1)How hard is it to say thank you when someone holds the door for you? 2)Before you forward on a "factual" email--check to make sure it really is factual. 3)STORES--ALERT--if you only have one cashier--don't be surprised if people don't have the time or patience to wait in line. Take a cue from Target. (PS--and while you are at it, it might be a good idea to throw a couple of the those diaper changing stations in the men's rooms.) 4)Don't assume everyone on your email list has the same opinions as you. 5)Hand sanitizers are pure evil. 99% does not equal 100%---i.e. a small, VERY RESISTANT population of bugs/germs/bacteria live, even in the presence of hand sanitizer....and they grow stronger and more resistance. Hence, this is why you are seeing kids with multiple ear infections and antibiotic-resistance bacteria. Good ole-fashion soap is your friend. 6)Bush may be a "Gun" man, but he is not a sportsman. Sportsman care about the environment, Bush does not. 7)Dear Coworkers--when the recycling bin is 4 feet from the trash bin, why not just throw that plastic 1 Liter bottle in the recycling bin, rather then the trash? Sorry, it was a Monday.
