One of my favorite places in the whole wide world

To catch up here are the challenges...maybe you can accomplish all of them in one day:

Day 11
todays challenge:
Are you ready for this?
NO COMPUTER IN THE MORNING HOURS!
I know, I know.
{unless of course you are at work...}
But only for work purposes.
Get off the dang computer and DO SOMETHING.
Hey, it could be worse.
It could be 21 days

Day 12
todays challenge:
We all make mistakes.
We all need another chance.
Today you get that opportunity in regards to these challenges.
It's Do Over Day.
Pick one of the previous challenges that maybe you weren't ever so successful at....
And try for it again.
Practice makes perfect.

Day 13
todays challenge:
Ahhhh, Saturday.
Time to unwind and relax.
I am ordering you to do just that today.
Your challenge is to find a way to relax and DO IT!

Well, well..we sure do have a lot to cover here..so settle in folks

First off...OH that is right, we were doing a challenge...the Day 10 challenge is (was)---wait did I miss some days? Jen hasn't sent me one in awhile.... Humpff...oh well, here ya go:

Day 10
todays challenge:
We're almost half way there!!!
And with 11 more days to go, we definitely need to be working on patience.
Let today's focus be on just that.
Lots of deep breaths.
Breathe.
Patience.

Today's note from the Universe which I just love....such a good thought to end the week:

You know, almost anything you feel you "have to" do, like cleaning and washing, can become a chore, even a drudgery; while those things that remain optional, like Disney World and Twister, can seem far more inviting, even fun.

So, Becky, as you go down the path of life, particularly when it seems you must force yourself through the motions, it just may help if you pause and give thought to the countless souls who'd give most anything for the option of even your "chores."

Life... it can sometimes be like one of those really, really "good problems," huh?

Tallyho,

The Universe

If you would like the Universe to send you a note everyday, you can go here and sign up (for free).

Lastly....if you go over to the right there, there are a couple of new blogs added but one is a Pacing the Panic Room....very good stuff and it is refreshing to hear from a guy.  A guy that speaks honestly about breastfeeding and babies and music and takes great pictures. Oh and check out the great video he did of the cutest pregnant lady on the planet (his wife).

Anyways, as you know I am a big fan of music. Well he has put out an amazing collection of music together to help raise funds to support research of Smith-Magenis Syndrome, an illness his daughter has recently been diagnosed with.

Go out and get this....immediately.  I know they are working on a physical CD but right now you can get it on iTunes.  I see a Christmas present in your future....act surprised.

Day 9

todays challenge:

Let's start getting things DONE!

You know that to do list that you've been staring at or thinking of for FOREVER?

Today you get to tackle one of those tasks that has just not been attended to for quite some time.

You will feel SUCH a sense of relief when it's finally crossed off the list.

Well, well

What you are about to see is approximately two months of pictures smashed into one blog post. I have taken a liking to Josh's Canon XT EOS...and so my poor Canon Powershot has sat buried in the bottom of my bag. BUT JUST YOU WAIT...because there are a lot of cute pictures on there that I completely forgot about......sort of like waking up on Christmas morning.

Day 7
todays challenge:
Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to stop and rest in God's presence.
And instead at the end of the day, as we're drifting off to sleep, we give him what's left.
If even that.
But how much better would things be, if we began AND ended our day with intentional time with Him?
Today's your chance.
Wake up a few minutes early and spend that time being with Him.
And at the end of the day, before you're even a tad bit sleepy, sit aside time to be with Him once again.
Make it personal.
Make it intentional.
And see how it may just be the sweetest time you've had all day.

I understand that not everyone who reads this is Christian or God following but I think most of us are spiritual in some way.  Maybe the outdoors are your church or your kitchen is the place where you find time to think inward....take a moment to meditate and think about your good life.

Day 5

todays challenge:

Imagine all the things we could get done if we didn't have social media....

for example: Facebook & Twitter.

Let's try it out and see just what happens when we take a break for 24 hours.

Take notes on what you accomplish in the time not wasted.

Day 4 ---The Internal Naysayer.....

Day 4

todays challenge:

Often times we can get caught up in negative self talk.

Or in being negative period.

We tend to speak to ourselves more horribly than we would ever imagine speaking to someone we love.

So today, that stops.

With every negative thought that comes into your mind,

first immediately STOP it...

And then, replace that thought with what is TRUE and positive.

Even better, get some index cards and write out the negative thought on one side,

and the truth on the other.

Along with the truth, you could find a bible verse or quote that further encourages you in that area.

Notice what a difference you feel about yourself and about life at the end of the day.

Challenge--Day 3

Day 3
todays challenge:
Today's focus is on the blessings in your life.

Grab a notebook and keep track of each and every blessing that comes your way. When you're looking for them, you'll be sure to find them.

Some of mine may not be so called "blessings" but they are definitely things I adore:
1)My healthy kids (by far my greatest blessing)
2)My patient husband
3)The policeman that works as a crossing guard by our schools.  He has a thankless job.
4)People that aren't afraid to be unique.
5)Fresh veggies and fruit.
6)Education.
7)Coffee
8)Fun coworkers
9)Health Insurance
10)A good job
11)Have a bountiful group of good friends.

The 21 Day Challenge

I am a tad behind in posting this but my group of old friends from Arizona and I are taking up a 21 Day Challenge courtesy of my friend Jen.  I don't know if she borrowed the challenge...but all in all it is quite fun and I am looking forward to doing it.

Day 1
today's challenge:
Think of something you are willing to give up for 21 days,
and commit to it once and for all.
Write it down.
Tell someone so they can help to hold you accountable.
and remember,
it's just for 21 days.
you can do anything for 21 days.

Mine is sweets (candy, pastries, ice cream, chocolate, cake).  And soda pop.  I had given up soda pop awhile ago but occasionally I fail and so is will help.

Day 2
today's challenge:
Let today be a day that you are focused on going out of your way to show love and kindness to the people around you.
Whether that means sending a card,
writing a thoughtful email or note,
doing a chore for someone,
or spending extra intentional time with a friend, child or family member....
Whatever it may be, just find as many ways as you can throughout the day and do them.
And do them with a heart full of love.

Some people just have magical voices

This video comes courtesy of April Meeker, from Second Sister fame.  She was the one that did the lovely illustration in the video. Her amazing jewelry can be found here.
